About Mak-Jolly

Mak-Jolly is a Christian Kindergarten and Primary School in Kiryandongo, Uganda. It is a school with a strong spiritual moral and academic record.    This means our staff are committed Christians who work with children with the knowledge that they were all created with love in God's Image.

We are located in Kiryandongo district, a place with people of different tribes including many refugees, in Kikube village,  Bobi – Masindi Road

(Kampala-Gulu Highway) in Uganda.

Established February 2012. Started with 8 children and today we have 314 children (2023) between 3 and 15 years. We are one of a few schools with more girls than boys. 164 girls and 150 boys included 16 refugees from a nearby camp. The refugees come from South Sudan. In boarding we have 96.

Mak-Jolly school its self is a miracle because it was opened by faith in God's Grace and provision. That is why the school motto is

"Determination and Faith a key to success”.

We constructed in 2015 a new schoolbuilding in bricks for Primary 2 to 7 for 2018, the building is not yet fully completed, but functional.

We constructed a new Kindergarten building in bricks in January 2018. The Kindergarten building was put in use in September 2018.

We have constructed a kitchen and also a place, small building for the teachers.

We constructed a dormitory for girls in 2018 and one for the boys in 2020. Each with room for 60 children.

In 2021 we got a sickbay.

Mak-Jolly is supported by Kristent Center Jyderup, Denmark and Tornved Y's Men's Club, Denmark.

Classes

Play Group, Baby Class, Middle Class, Top Class, Primary One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six and Seven.

Food

We provide the children with tea or porridge in the morning and food for lunch and dinner for boarding section.

Transport 

Minivans provides transport service to and from Kiryandongo town and other neighbouring places. Currently 14 villages.

Pick up at 6.00am to 7.20am for all levels depending your stage.

Back at 12.30pm for Kindergarten and 5.00pm for Daycare and Primary.

Payment monthly and before the term opens or on the first day of the term.

Opening hours

Daycare and Primary open from 7.30am until 5pm.   

Kindergarten opens from 7.30am until 12.30 noon.
